Student Council of MMCHRI Organizes GASTRONOVA 2026 Intra-College Quiz Competition

The Student Council of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) organized GASTRONOVA 2026, an intra-college quiz competition on the Gastrointestinal System, for students from all phases of the MBBS programme and Compulsory Rotatory Medical Interns (CRMIs). The competition was conducted with the objective of strengthening participants’ understanding of gastrointestinal anatomy, physiology, pathology, and clinical medicine through an engaging academic platform.

The programme was inaugurated by Prof. Dr. K. V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCHRI, who encouraged students to actively participate in such academic activities that promote analytical thinking, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Following the preliminary rounds, six teams qualified for the finals, with each team comprising four members representing different phases of the MBBS programme. The finalists competed through a series of challenging and interactive quiz rounds that tested their knowledge of the gastrointestinal system, ranging from basic scientific concepts to clinical case-based applications.

The competition successfully fostered healthy academic competition while enhancing the participants’ subject knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and critical thinking skills. The enthusiastic participation of students reflected their keen interest in expanding their clinical and academic understanding beyond the classroom.

GASTRONOVA 2026 concluded successfully, providing an enriching learning experience and reinforcing the importance of collaborative and interactive educational activities in medical training.
