MCOT Faculty and Students Participate in NEURENTRA 2026 International Mental Health Leadership Conclave

Faculty members and postgraduate students of Meenakshi College of Occupational Therapy (MCOT), MAHER, participated in NEURENTRA 2026 – International Mental Health Leadership Conclave, organized by Aadiantaa – A Mental Health Initiative & Organisation, on 1st July 2026 in Chennai. The conclave brought together mental health professionals, academicians, researchers, educators, and healthcare leaders to deliberate on the future of mental healthcare and foster collaborative approaches to mental well-being.

Representing MCOT, Prof. Deepa Sundareswaran, Principal, had the distinguished honour of serving as a panelist at the prestigious international conclave. During the panel discussion, she shared valuable insights into the evolving role and scope of Occupational Therapy in mental healthcare, emphasizing the importance of occupational engagement, psychosocial rehabilitation, and multidisciplinary care in improving the quality of life of individuals experiencing stress, emotional dysregulation, and mental health challenges.

The programme was also attended by two faculty members and first-year postgraduate students in Occupational Therapy, who actively participated in the scientific sessions and professional interactions. The conclave provided an enriching platform for learning, networking, and knowledge exchange, exposing participants to contemporary developments and innovative approaches in mental healthcare.
