Meenakshi College of Arts and Science Conducts Guest Lecture on Pen testing and Cyber Security Careers

The Department of Computer Science and Applications, Meenakshi College of Arts and Science (MCAS), MAHER, organized a Guest Lecture on “Penetration Testing Techniques and Career Guidance” on 20th August 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the MAHER Auditorium. The programme aimed to provide students with practical insights into cyber security practices and emerging career opportunities in the field.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. P. Sagayaraj, Dean, MCAS; Dr. V. Shanthi, Principal, Shift I; and Dr. N. Prabhavathy Devi, Principal, Shift II. Mr. Sabhareeshwaran, Cyber Security Tutor, Cyberentityz, served as the resource person.

The session introduced students to the fundamentals of penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, ethical hacking, and techniques for strengthening system and network security. The resource person emphasized the importance of ethical practices, responsible disclosure, and continuous skill development for professionals aspiring to build careers in cyber security.

The session also highlighted the growing demand for cyber security professionals and explored career opportunities in areas such as Penetration Testing, Security Analysis, SOC Analysis, Network Security, Vulnerability Assessment, and Cyber Forensics. An interactive question-and-answer session enabled students to clarify their queries regarding cyber security tools, professional certifications, and career pathways.

The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members and provided valuable exposure to contemporary industry practices. It helped bridge the gap between theoretical learning and practical applications while encouraging students to explore the expanding career opportunities in the cyber security domain.
