The Department of Pharmacology at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital (MADCH), MAHER, organised a guest lecture on 23 October 2026 as part of National Pharmacovigilance Week 2026. The session was delivered by Dr. A. Maduram, M.D., Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, Shri Sathya Sai Medical College & Research Institute, Chennai.
The lecture highlighted the importance of pharmacovigilance in identifying, assessing, understanding and preventing adverse drug reactions (ADRs). It emphasised the role of healthcare professionals in monitoring drug safety, reporting adverse reactions responsibly and promoting the rational use of medicines.
The programme reinforced the importance of pharmacovigilance in safeguarding patient well-being and strengthening safe, effective and responsible healthcare practices.
