Faculty of Allied Health Sciences Induction Program for 2024-2025 batch students

The Faculty of Allied Health Sciences organized the Student Induction Program for the new batch of students 2024-2025 was conducted from 02.09.24 to 06.09.24 at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Maduravoyal, Chennai. The program was organised to introduce the freshers to the institution’s academic culture, student life, and holistic development opportunities. It aimed at ensuring a smooth transition into college life while fostering personal and professional growth.

Day 1(02.09.24): The induction program was inaugurated by the Registrar Prof Dr. V. Sureka Varalakshmi who served as the chief guest for the occasion.Prof Dr .V.Ramnath Principal FAHS felicitated the chief guest and delivered a presidential address for the students by emphasis the excellence of MAHER.The Student Welfare Committee of MAHER Dr.Lilly Christopher and Dr.Burnice Nalina Kumari  had  explored the new batch of students about the support services available at University. Career Opportunities in Allied Health Sciences was organized the session was led by Mr. Thulasi Dass Sri Ramachandra Institute Chennai, an expert in the field, who provides insights into the wide range of career options available in the field of Allied Health sciences, covering various specializations, industry demands and growth prospects.

Day 2 (03.09.24): The vice principal’s Dr.K.S.Sridevi Sangeetha illuminated about  Academic Overview, Dr.B.Durga expounded about  Introduction to Academic Regulations and Discipline. Followed by an invited talk “A Strategic Framework for Cohesion in Healthcare system” by Dr. Saravana Kumar, Department of Anatomy MMCHRI. The various committee coordinators oriented to students about the committees like Anti-ragging, Internal Complaints Committee, Students Grievance Redressal Committee. Followed by a special guest Mr.Thaveethu sub Inspector of police were invited to educate the students about the detrimental effects of ragging and to maintain a ragging free environment.

Day 3(04.09.24): The third day programme was focused on invited talk on the topic “The Legacy of Learning: How Teachers Shape Generations” by  Prof.Dr. Balasubramanian, Dept of Physiology , MADC. As part of the Student Induction Program for the new batch students a talk on “Communication and Professionalism” led by Mrs.Sangeetha chanderasekaran coordinator of Youth Early service program. She has  emphasized the importance of effective communication in academic and professional environments. In the post lunch session, the coordinator of Committee members like placement, NSS and sports activity were explained to the students.

Day 4(05.09.24): On the 4th day, commemorate the Nutrition Week Dr. Prabavathy Devi Vice Principal FHS, MAHER was invited as a resource person to give a talk on Nourish to Flourish “Feeding smart right from start” on commemoration of  Nutrition Week. In the post lunch session Intellectual Property Rights  and it’s importance was explained by Prof.Dr.Ponmurugan panneer selvam Associate Dean,MAHER.

Day 5(06.09.24): on the 5th day of the SIP, the students were taken to Campus tour guided by faculties, organized to familiarize the students with the facilities. Mr Shree Jayaram Head – IIC & EDC, MAHER explained the importance of IIC & EDC. The feedback form collected from the students indicated a highly positive response for the five days SIP 2024.
