The Faculty of Humanities and Science (FHS) at MAHER was honored to host an inspiring guest lecture by Mrs. B. Muthulakshmi, a distinguished scientist from ISRO. The event was attended by the staff and students of MAHER-FHS on 22nd February 2025 at MAHER Auditorium.
The lecture covered a broad range of topics, including the Chandrayaan missions, the role of artificial intelligence in space research, and future interplanetary missions. In addition to these, she spoke extensively about Gaganyaan, India’s first human spaceflight program. She elaborated on the mission’s objectives, challenges, and the technological innovations being developed to ensure its success. Her insights into Gaganyaan sparked curiosity among students, who were eager to learn about India’s ambitious plans to send astronauts into space.
She shared her personal journey. Coming from humble beginnings, she studied in a corporation school and gradually worked her way up to become a leading scientist at ISRO. Her story of perseverance and dedication deeply inspired the students, proving that with hard work and determination, one can achieve great heights regardless of their background.
The lecture concluded with an interactive session where students posed thought-provoking questions about space exploration, artificial intelligence, and the future of India’s space missions. Mrs. Muthulakshmi’s responses were both informative and encouraging, leaving students with a newfound motivation to pursue careers in science and technology.
