Department of Tamil, Faculty of Humanities and Science, MAHER celebrated Mahakavi Bharathiyar’s birthday on 20th October. Speakers of this programme included Assistant Professor Mr. P. Kumaravel, and Professor Dr. V. Nalini. They eloquently spoke on the life, literature and everlasting impact of Subramania Bharati in Tamil literature and his contribution to the freedom struggle. Around 200 hundred students gathered to celebrate the legacy of this great Tamil poet. Students participated in an oratorical competition on Mahakavi and later were awarded with prizes by the principal of FHS, Dr. V. Shanthi.
