Day 2 of the Student Induction Programme (SIP) 2026 at Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS), held on 1 September 2026, focused on the academic, professional, ethical, and administrative responsibilities of students as future healthcare professionals.
Prof. Dr. B. Durga provided an overview of the curriculum, NCAHP guidelines, professional ethics, academic policies, and the importance of academic integrity. An invited session by Mrs. Shobanaraj M. Padmanaban on “Becoming Healthcare Professionals” highlighted the significance of confidence, effective communication, professional behaviour, and developing a strong professional identity.
The afternoon sessions focused on the Anti-Ragging Committee and its activities, emphasising the importance of maintaining a safe, respectful, and supportive academic environment. The final session, conducted by Prof. Dr. B. Durga, provided insights into the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), its role, and responsibilities in addressing institutional complaints.
The sessions provided students with a comprehensive understanding of professional conduct, institutional policies, ethical responsibilities, and the standards expected of them as they embark on their journey towards becoming competent and responsible healthcare professionals.
