Dr. M. Nishaa Bharathi, faculty member of Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy, conducted an intensive hands-on workshop on Rigid and Kinesio Taping at Mannai Narayanaswamy College of Physiotherapy, Thanjavur, on 23rd January. The workshop was designed to strengthen practical competencies and promote evidence-based application of taping techniques in contemporary physiotherapy practice.
The program provided a balanced integration of theory and practice, covering the scientific principles of taping, clinical assessment, taping methodologies, and functional applications across various clinical conditions and on-field sports injury management. Through structured demonstrations, guided practice sessions, and interactive discussions, participants gained in-depth understanding and valuable hands-on experience in both rigid and kinesio taping techniques.
The skill-oriented approach of the workshop enabled participants to enhance their clinical confidence, decision-making ability, and therapeutic effectiveness, particularly in musculoskeletal rehabilitation and sports physiotherapy. The session was well received and contributed significantly to the academic enrichment and professional development of the participating physiotherapists.
