Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences Joins State-Wide “Mass Anti-Drug Pledge” Programme

The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Allied Health Sciences (MCAHS) actively participated in the state-wide “Mass Anti-Drug Pledge” Programme under the theme “Drug-Free Tamil Nadu” on 11th August 2026. The initiative aimed to create awareness among students about the harmful effects of drug and substance abuse and promote a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle.

Students and faculty members of MCAHS participated in the programme through an online YouTube session led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. C. Joseph Vijay. The session highlighted the importance of collective action in preventing substance abuse and encouraging young people to make informed and responsible choices.

Dr. V. Ramnath, Principal, and Dr. B. Durga, Vice-Principal, along with faculty members and students, actively participated in the programme and took the Anti-Drug Awareness Pledge, reaffirming their commitment to promoting a drug-free society.

The programme concluded with a collective commitment to spreading awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and encouraging healthy choices among the youth for a safer and healthier future.
