Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy Faculty Delivers Research Integrity Talk at Sri Venkateswara College of Physiotherapy, Puducherry

A research talk on “Protecting Research Integrity: Understanding Scientific and Ethical Misconduct” was conducted at Sri Venkateswara College of Physiotherapy, Puducherry, on 20 December 2025. The session was delivered by Dr. P. V. Hari Hara Subramanyan, Associate Professor, Meenakshi College of Physiotherapy, and witnessed the active participation of around 250 attendees, including undergraduate students, postgraduate students, PhD scholars, and faculty members from various disciplines.

The talk provided a comprehensive overview of research integrity, focusing on different forms of scientific and ethical misconduct such as data fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, and unethical authorship practices. Dr. Subramanyan elaborated on the serious academic, professional, and legal consequences of research misconduct, emphasizing the responsibility of researchers to uphold honesty, transparency, and accountability throughout the research process. The session also highlighted practical strategies to prevent misconduct, including adherence to ethical guidelines, proper documentation, responsible authorship, and institutional oversight.

The programme was interactive and engaging, prompting participants to reflect on ethical challenges encountered in research environments and to clarify their doubts through discussion. The session significantly enhanced awareness about ethical research practices and reinforced the importance of integrity as the foundation of credible and impactful scientific work, leaving participants better equipped to conduct responsible and ethical research in their academic and professional pursuits.
