The Staff Welfare Committee, Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute, organized a vibrant “Pongal Vizha 2025” celebration on January 10, 2025. The day started with live Pongal cooking followed by activities like Rangoli (Kolam) competitions and pot painting. The formal inauguration started with an invocation song, lighting of the lamp, welcome address by Dr.Muthulakshmi, and a keynote address by the Dean Dr. K.V. Rajasekhar followed by Cultural Performances by first year MBBS student After the performances, everyone was treated with a delicious Pongal feast. The afternoon was filled with fun and laughter as participants enjoyed traditional games like Uriyadi (Pot Breaking Game), sugarcane eating competition, musical chairs, and tug-of-war.Overall, the “Pongal Vizha 2025” promised to be a memorable event that celebrates the spirit of Pongal and fosters a sense of community within the Meenakshi Medical College Hospital & Research Institute.
