Report on the Guest Lecture: ‘Being a Responsible Citizen: Say No to Drugs’

The Internal Quality Assurance Cell, and Student Council of Faculty of Humanities and Science, Meenakshi Academy of Higher Education and Research (MAHER), successfully organized a guest lecture titled ‘Being a Responsible Citizen: Say No to Drugs’ on 19th February 2025. The event aimed to raise awareness among students about the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of leading a responsible and healthy life. The lecture featured Dr. Suresh Govind, Professor and former Head, Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya, as the guest speaker. Dr. Govind delivered an insightful and thought-provoking lecture on the consequences of drug addiction, its impact on physical and mental health, and the role of students in fostering a drug-free society. The lecture concluded on a highly positive note, with students gaining awareness of the ill effects of drugs and the importance of making informed choices. The event reinforced the commitment of MAHER towards fostering a drug-free and responsible society, empowering students to become ambassadors of positive change.
