Meenakshi College of Nursing Conducts Voter Awareness Signature Campaign to Promote Responsible Citizenship

The NSS Unit of Meenakshi College of Nursing organized a “Voter’s Awareness Signature Campaign” with the objective of encouraging students to actively participate in the democratic process by exercising their right to vote. The initiative also aimed to create awareness about the importance of voting, particularly motivating first-time voters to register and vote responsibly.

Dr. Fabiola M. Dhanaraj, Principal, addressed the gathering and emphasized that voting is not just a right but a responsibility, highlighting that every vote contributes to shaping the future of the community and the nation. Following this, a pledge was taken by all faculty members and students to actively participate in the upcoming elections.

The signature campaign was led by the Principal, with enthusiastic participation from 85 students, 9 faculty members, and 6 non-teaching staff, who signed in support of their commitment to vote.

The campaign served as an effective platform to raise awareness on electoral participation and civic responsibility among students. This engagement strengthened their understanding of democratic values, encouraged informed decision-making, and enhanced their sense of responsibility as active citizens.
