Students of Meenakshi College of Nursing (MCON), MAHER, showcased their academic excellence by securing top positions at the Poster Competition on Psychiatric Disorders, organized in collaboration with the Psychiatric Unit, Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, on 31st July 2026. The competition served as a platform for participants to demonstrate their knowledge, creativity, and scientific communication skills in the field of mental health nursing.
The event brought together 44 participants, including III Year B.Sc. Nursing (VI Semester) students, psychiatrists, CRRI students, and postgraduate medical students. A total of 10 posters on various psychiatric and mental health topics were presented through both e-poster and chart poster formats, reflecting the participants’ understanding of contemporary mental health issues.
The students of Meenakshi College of Nursing achieved remarkable success in the competition. Ms. Ezhilarasi secured the First Prize for her presentation on “Common Psychiatric Disorders.” Mr. Bharathraj and Ms. Karpagam won the Second Prize for their poster on “Eating Disorders,” while Mr. Bharath S. received the Third Prize for his presentation on psychiatric disorders.
The competition significantly enhanced the students’ understanding of psychiatric disorders while strengthening their research, presentation, and scientific communication skills. Their award-winning presentations reflected academic excellence, creativity, and a strong commitment to promoting mental health awareness.
