The Dental Education Unit and the Department of General Pathology of Meenakshi Ammal Dental College organized a Guest Lecture cum Workshop on “Approach to the Diagnosis of Bleeding Disorders” on 24th April 2026.
The session was delivered by Dr. S. Sri Gayathri, MD, Associate Professor, Department of Laboratory Medicine, Sri Ramachandra Medical College, SRIHER, Chennai. The programme provided a comprehensive overview of the fundamentals of bleeding disorders, followed by detailed discussions on real-time case scenarios involving dental patients presenting with abnormal bleeding.
A total of 43 postgraduate students and faculty members participated in the session. The workshop was highly interactive, encouraging participants to engage in clinical reasoning and discuss diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to various cases.
The session facilitated active learning through case-based discussions, enabling participants to bridge theoretical knowledge with practical application in dental practice. Feedback was collected from both the resource person and participants, reflecting a positive and enriching academic experience.
This academic engagement enhanced participants’ understanding of bleeding disorders, strengthened their diagnostic skills, and improved their clinical decision-making in managing patients with hematological conditions.
