The Undergraduate National UG Convention in Periodontology was successfully conducted at Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital, Chennai in association with Indian Society of Periodontology and ISP study group, Chennai. Dr Jaideep Mahendra, organising Chairman, welcomed the delegates. VC and pro VC addressed the gathering and discussed the importance of Research. Students participated in huge numbers. More than 334 registrations. 25 colleges from all over Tamilnadu participated in the conference. The ISP head office bearers and speakers gave the enlightening lecture to the students emphasizing on the importance of Periodontology as a speciality. Overall 150 prizes were given. Prizes from each category were distributed. Overall trophies to the winning colleges were also distributed . Director of Medical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu, our chief guest, appreciated the program and distributed the prizes. Overall the conference was a grand success.
