World Book and Copyright Day Celebrated at MMCHRI

The Library Advisory Committee of Meenakshi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute (MMCHRI) organized a special event to commemorate World Book and Copyright Day on 29th April 2025. The program aimed to foster a deeper appreciation for books, promote copyright awareness, and enhance digital resource literacy among students.

The event commenced with a Welcome Address by Dr. C. Velmurugan, Chief Librarian of MMCHRI, who highlighted the importance of reading and digital literacy in the evolving landscape of medical education. This was followed by an inspiring Keynote Address by Prof. Dr. K.V. Rajasekhar, Dean, MMCHRI, who emphasized the role of books and intellectual property rights in academic growth and innovation.

Dr. Anbazhagan, Professor of General Medicine and Library Committee Coordinator, delivered the Felicitation Address, appreciating the committee’s efforts in organizing the event and encouraging students to make the most of the library’s resources.

A key highlight of the event was the User Orientation Programme titled “How to Access the E-Resources through Knimbus”, conducted by Dr. C. Velmurugan. This session was specifically designed for first-year postgraduate students, focusing on navigating and utilizing the institution’s digital library platform, Knimbus. The orientation was followed by an engaging Q&A session, allowing students to clarify doubts and interact directly with the resource experts.

The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. C.T. Meyyammai, Assistant Professor, General Medicine, who acknowledged the contributions of the organizing team, speakers, and participants for making the event a success.
